Personal Trainer
Jamie and I joined a gym a few weeks back. We were members of a gym back home, but didn’t join one here because they’re fairly expensive, and we really wanted to do more things outside. Which…is all well and good, but now that winter is coming up yet again, I’m not going to want to be outside 5-6 days a week. We still run outside in the mornings, and will probably continue to do so even in the winter, but I wanted something indoors as well (and I’ve always been a gym person).
So…we joined, and it’s been fabulous! Along with our membership came three free personal training sessions. Oh my word…my personal trainer is amazing/evil! I really respond to his motivation, and I feel myself working even harder than I normally push myself, and it’s fantastic! I’m sore after every session, but that doesn’t really bother me. We’ve had two sessions so far, and a third is scheduled for Monday, but after that, I’m going to keep going. Jamie said he doesn’t mind putting money away for things like that, and that he feels its a good investment (and I agree), so it looks like I’m going to keep using a personal trainer until we move home. I’m really happy with the decision, and I can already feel results in my body. I already liked going to the gym, but I REALLY enjoy the workouts I get. Last night, I spent 30+ minutes boxing, which was so much fun (and a lot of cardio), along with more squats and push-ups than I care to remember. I was exhausted after, but it was such a good feeling.
We’ve booked our flights and such to Hawaii for our anniversary, so now my goal is to really get in shape before the trip. Along with that, I’d also like to be in the best shape possible for when we get pregnant, so I know this will only help out with that. Tonight we have a yoga class, so that should be fun as well…hopefully it’ll be relaxing (and help me with my flexibility).. If you’re interested in hearing more about my yoga class, let me know!
Hope you all are doing well!
XOXOXO,
K.

That’s so cool! I’ve noticed a lot of the personal trainers at the gyms we’ve belonged to don’t really push people. They almost seem like just a ‘spotter’ during the lifting weights portion. I’m so glad this person is pushing you! That’s the way it should be! Make sure and take pics of all the changes!! With this, the scale probably won’t move much, but you’ll definitely feel a difference in how your clothes fit. I really struggled with the whole “the scales not moving because i’m gaining muscle” so i stopped weighing completely.
@ShamrockLover - I hope the scale moves, I’ve gained back all the weight I lost! I want to lose around 25 lbs. to get back to a reasonable weight (which will still be ablove what my height chart says I should weigh…ugh). Wish me luck though!
I was personal training until May. Then my trainer couldn’t work it out between the gym and her full time job. So, she left, and since then I haven’t connected with a trainer-I only tried one-the one she recommended me to. I miss it so much, but it’s all about who you train with! I hit my goal prior to her leaving. But I’d like to lose another 10-15 pounds, but I haven’t been able to lose those last 10 pounds now since.
great job on working out! keep it up.
