I’m Still Here.
Sorry I’ve not blogged much the past week. I’ve been here, just haven’t had much to really write about. Last night, I signed up for 30 personal training sessions, which should get me through to when we move home at the end of March. I’ll be missing a few weeks while we’re in Switzerland over Christmas, then we’ll be home for a week or so in January, while we house hunt. I’ve signed up for two days a week, which I think will be really beneficial. My personal trainer is really awesome…he definitely pushes me A LOT, but he’s also super encouraging at the same time. He also does nutrition plans, as well as schedules for days when I’m not training with him, so I can still use his style when I’m at the gym, even when I’m not working out with him. Currently, we hit up the gym 2-3 days a week, then we run 3 days a week, and take off a day. We’ve also joined a yoga studio, so Wednesday nights will be filled with yoga. I’m definitely looking forward to that as well!
In other news…still sorting out the moving home business. We’ve been looking online for houses, and I found one today that I like, but it’s still a few months away from January, so no use getting my hopes up on a house that might not even be on the market when we get ready to buy. I never thought I’d say this, but I’ve become drawn more and more to older homes. They require some work, but that’s what I think we want. We really want to make it “ours”…but use an existing structure. We’ve found a few good candidates, but we’re being pretty mindful of price. We’ll see…a part of me just wants to get to January so we can put this step behind us, but I’m trying to be really careful not to “wish away my life.” If that makes sense.
In the meantime, I am gearing up for Morocco!!! We leave in less than ten days for a long weekend trip. Basically, a Thursday through Tuesday trip to Marrakech and the Atlas Mountains. I am SO excited!! I’ve already booked us a cooking class while we’re there, and Jamie is going to sort out a few hikes and camel expeditions for the mountains. I need to put together a plan of the things I want to see while in Marrakech, but the spice market is #1 on my list! I plan on coming back with TONS of spices…so excited!
That’s all for now! Hope you all are doing well! I’ve been keeping updated on reading, but haven’t been commenting as much as I’d like, so I’ll try to be better about that.
XOXOXO,
K.

Glad you like your personal trainer! That is key! How long do you train for at one time? How much do you pay per session? If that’s too personal-you don’t have to answer. I am just trying to sort through whether or not I should continue at the same gym training. I have heard it’s expensive compared to others.
cant wait to hear about the trip and see pics. i think its interesting and very cool that you are taking a cooking class while there; its great that you can experience another countries cusine that way.
@heckels - I LOVE to cook, so doing a cooking class is great for me! Actually, last night, I made a recipe from our cooking class in Hungary (Chicken Paprikash). VERY good!!
@JM_in_SC - Oh, you should know by now, nothing is too personal! So…the starting price was €59 per session, but if you did a package, it became a bit cheaper. For 20 sessions, it was 10% off the €59, and for 30 sessions, it was 20% off the €59. So…I did the 30 sessions, which means each session is €47.20. So, for all 30, it’s €1416, which is around $1830 at the going exchange rate. It’s pricey, and I was expecting it to be, but man…it hurts when you look at it like that! But, this will get me 2 sessions a week with the personal trainer until we move (15 weeks until we move…with taking a few weeks off for vacations and such). Crazy to think we’ll be moving home that soon!
Anyways…I hope this helps! I really REALLY enjoy working out with a personal trainer, and I’m really happy that I made it a priority in our spending, even though I realize it’s expensive. I just hope to see the results at the end of all of this. I already feel stronger, but I’m not seeing much in the way of scale movement or clothes fitting better, though Jamie swears he can tell a difference in my shape. We’ll see!
