  • Not a whole lot

Not a whole lot going on right now.  Things with work have been pretty slow going, just going to work and getting the usual things completed.  Nothing new on the moving front.  We're still waiting on our contract to be put together so that we can look it over (and I will definitely be going over it with a VERY fine tooth comb...I knew that law degree would come in handy eventually).

Jamie leaves for Europe on Sunday for a 2 week trip.  He has a lot of things that he needs to do while he's there...including taking note of the kitty foods and liters available at the pet stores there (and finding a pet store there, while he's at it).  I just want to do some research so that we'll know what to got for Lily when we get there and won't be running around all lost.  I'm sure there's some other things that he needs to research while he's there, but I have a full 2 weeks to think of them, so I'm not too concerned.

Tonight...I'm carving my pumpkin with Rachel and we're having pumpkin cheesecake and apple cidar!!!!  I love Halloween!!!!  I love the fall, actually...this is my favorite time of year!  After this holiday is the rapid move towards Thanksgiving (one of my absolute FAVORITE holidays), and then right on to Christmas!!!  I've been putting together my Christmas list for Jamie and my parents, but I'm running out of ideas.  I have, so far, a Nintendo DS Lite, a scarf, pajama pants from Victoria's Secret, and a wristlet.  I like to give Jamie and my parents lot to choose from so that I don't know what I'm getting (and Jamie loves to give surprises).  So yeah...if any of you have any great Christmas gift ideas, let me know!!!

  • House Hunting!

Jamie and I got our travel approved to go to the Netherlands to house hunt!!!  Jamie will be traveling back and forth during November and December (2 weeks in the Netherlands in November, then 3 weeks in the Netherlands in December).  Luckily he will be back here in the states for all the holidays, which was really important to me.  I'll probably be going to the Netherlands the third week in December so that we can house hunt and then take a few days off at the end to go to some of the Christmas Markets.  I am so excited!!!!!  I'm less excited about all the stuff we have to accomplish here before we leave though...OY!

Hope you all are having a wonderful weekend!!!

    XOXOXOXO,
    K.

  • Inspiring Quote of the Day:

“Great ideas, it has been said, come into the world as gently as doves.  Perhaps, then, if we listen attentively, we shall hear, amid the uproar of empires and nations, a faint flutter of wings, the gentle stirring of life and hope.  Some will say that this hope lies in a nation; others, in a man.  I believe rather that it is awakened, revived, nourished by millions of solitary individuals whose deeds and works every day negate frontiers and the crudest implications of history.”

  • Lily is ready.

Yesterday I took Lily to the vet to get spayed and microchipped.  I picked her up around 3pm and, though a little groggy, she was doing really well.  We obviously have to keep an eye on her and make sure she doesn't run around acting all crazy (though I'm not sure how we can prevent this when we're not home), but I'm guessing that cats have some sort of protective instinct...if it hurts, they'll probably stop doing it.

That being said...Lily is ready for the big move.  We're still thinking late December/early January time from for moving to the Netherlands, but she has everything ready to go that she needed done.  She has her rabies vaccine, she's been microchipped, and all I have left to do is get the vet to fill out some forms for her so that she can get through customs.  Thankfully, you no longer have to quarantine your animals in the Netherlands (providing you can show the proper documentation of their vaccinations and such), so she'll be riding as my carry-on and will come straight home with us when we arrive.  I'm VERY happy about this because I would feel terrible if we had to quarantine her...I'm such a sucker.

I've started making lists.  Life is starting to really speed up now and we have a billion and one things to do before we move.  Keep your fingers crossed that it all goes smoothly!

    XOXOXOXO,
    K.
