Signed, Sealed, Delivered...
The work contract for our relocation to the Netherlands has been signed and delivered. We should be hearing from the relocation company within 48 hours and then we'll really get things moving. Jamie did some touch-up painting around the house last night while I went to the grocery store. Its all starting to become VERY real, very quickly. Its going to be a very hectic couple of months!

Spill It.
50 Things about Me:
1. I just finished with a cleaning frenzy at my office desk. I bleach wiped down everything and dusted, not to mention organized all my office supplies. I feel much better about my workspace now.
2. I stop at the gas station every morning for a 32oz. Diet Mountain Dew. If I don’t start out the day this way, I feel like something is “off.” Yes, I’m probably addicted to caffeine, but I don’t care.
4. I love strawberry pop-tarts. My parents never really let us have sweets growing up, so I just discovered them. They are fantastic!
5. I have dinner plans tonight with friends and we’re going to my favorite restaurant. YAY for Japanese food!
6. We are moving to the Netherlands in January. A part of me is super excited and the other part of me is scared out of my mind. I’m going to miss the US and my family/friends!
7. We have a cat that I love so much! I never thought I’d get so attached to an animal, but she really is part of the family. I have a picture of her on my credit card too. Yes, I am one of those people.
8. I am hoping that all the walking we will be doing in Europe will help me lose weight. For some reason, 20lbs. is so hard to get rid of!
9. I am currently in love with peacocks. Its as though I’m obsessed! I want peacock stationary, pictures for my house, my iPod Touch as a peacock background and so does my work laptop.
10. Even though we’re not having kids for a few years, I am currently trying out baby girl names that I like. I have a list. Jamie has yet to like any of them.
11. I really like to clean. A part of it is because I like for things to look nice, but the other part is that I’m just strange and enjoy the act of cleaning.
12. I have a calendar on my desk, but I can never seem to remember to change months. I just noticed it was still on August.
13. I want a pair of leather knee high boots with a kitten heel, but I can’t seen to find any that will zip over my giant calf muscle.
14. I have spent a ridiculous amount of time buying new stuff to take with us to Europe. I’m cheap and refuse to spend the extra money on clothing there.
15. I adore pearls. I usually wear pearl stud earrings every day. I think that they’re timeless and very classy.
16. I’m sad I have to sell my car when we leave. I love it! Anyone looking for a 2008 Honda Civic, Navy Blue?
17. I have been married since May 16, 2008. I love my husband so much and look forward to each new day with him (even when he annoys me).
18. I have lived in three different countries: Japan, the Netherlands, and the US.
19. I can type around 90 words per minute, but handwriting takes me forever. I hate handwriting.
20. I work with engineers every day and don’t really understand how they think. It is completely foreign to me.
21. I graduated undergrad with degrees in Political Science and Near Eastern Languages and Cultures (pretty much Arabic). Sadly, I’m not using either of these.
22. I really want to go to Egypt and Morocco.
23. My first piercing was my belly button. I didn’t get my ears pierced until a few years later.
24. I am sad that I can’t get Martha Stewart Living and Real Simple magazines in the Netherlands without spending a fortune.
25. I have played the flute since I was 12, and also learned saxophone and percussion (mainly snare drum). I am currently taking violin lessons, which I hope to continue in Europe.
26. I am trying to grow out my hair, but I’ve also cut a lot more layers into it than I normally do. I’m really liking it!
27. I should drink my water, but it just seems so “blah”…even with crystal light packets its still just so…boring.
28. Two of my friends are pregnant and due within days of each other!
29. I am obsessed with Victoria’s Secret panties and bras. I have at least a month’s worth of panties…its ridiculous.
30. I hold grudges, though I try REALLY hard not to.
31. I am finding that the older I get, the less I like to eat meat. Tofu is fast becoming a great friend.
32. I just bought an iPod Touch and I love it! The App store is taking all my money, unfortunately.
33. I agonize over finding the “perfect” gift for holidays and special occasions. Christmas this year is becoming tricky.
34. I have a blog on Xanga that I’ve been writing on for nearly 5 years. I need to eventually download the entries and get them bound so that I have something to remember when I’m old.
35. I really liked the “Twilight” series books, but thought the movie was terrible. That being said, I still want to see “New Moon”…because I’m a sucker.
36. I love reading. I’m scared to death that the public library in Eindhoven won’t have an English section and I’m going to be starved for new books to read.
37. I consider myself Christian (in the sense that I believe in God), but I do not go to church. I struggle with whether or not going to church really makes that much of a difference. I am still not sure where I stand on a lot of things regarding religion (including the role of Jesus: just a man, son of God, human v. divine, etc).
38. I graduated law school in May 2009. I plan on taking the bar exam in February 2010. I am not looking forward to it…at all.
39. I love Food Network. If I’m bored, better bet that Food Network is on television.
40. I have only had one pedicure in my life. I feel bad spending money on something I can easily do myself.
41. I have a really hard time making Christmas lists for myself. I can never think of anything that I want and/or need.
42. I never take my engagement ring and wedding ring off. That being said…they desperately need cleaned.
43. I love aquamarines. I think they are so pretty!
44. My favorite colors are blues, greens, greys and blacks.
45. I am generous to a fault. I love giving things to people. This also includes giving to the homeless and such. I go broke each Christmas donating to charities.
46. I worry about everything. I worry about how much I worry. I sometimes wonder if Jamie will ever get sick of my worrying and if it will drive us apart.
47. I take anti-depression meds due to my anxiety and depression. I was scared to tell Jamie about it when we were first dating. He loves me anyway!
48. I am scared to fly. I do it anyways, but I really hate it.
49. I love potatoes…in all forms. Mashed, scalloped, cheesy, buttery, fried…you name it, I’ll eat it. And cheese. I LOVE CHEESE.
50. I really want to get another cat, but I’m scared Lily won’t get along with the other cat and then we’ll have problems with both kitties being unhappy.

Contract to move...
We're supposed to get our contract to move hopefully by tomorrow. Then, I will be going over that thing with a FINE TOOTH COMB! I plan on using every trick I learned in law school to make sure that contract spells out exactly what we want it to and to make sure we're not somehow getting screwed in this process.
Then, we can sign it and MOVE ON with our lives! I feel like we've been in such a state of limbo for the past year...constantly on again and off again...are we moving? Are we staying? It has been a very difficult year for us, emotionally speaking. I think we're just ready to move on with whatever decision we come to. Jamie and I have made the decision to move overseas, and we're 100% committed to that decision, but we just want to start the process already and get going!
We watched "House Hunters International" tonight because they were featuring a couple looking for a house in the Netherlands. They were looking in a town called Venlo, which isn't where we're moving, but it is very similar to Eindhoven. Cute houses, but I have to get used to the fact that they will all be significantly smaller than what we live in now. As long as I have an oven and a bathtub, and the place allows cats, I'm good to go. Considering we lived in an apartment the size of a single dorm room in Japan, then in a studio apartment last summer in the Netherlands, anything we get will be bigger than what we had. I'd really like at least 2 bedrooms (in case we have people come visit) and 1.5 baths. I'd prefer 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms, but getting 2 bathrooms in Europe can be tricky.
House hunting starts December 14th. My flight leaves December 12th, I get in early morning on the 13th and I plan on sleeping half the day away. After a week of house hunting, we're going to hit up some Christmas markets in Germany and then come home to celebrate our last Christmas in the states for awhile!
Sending you all love!
XOXOXO,
K.

More Christmas Joy!
I just bought tickets for Jamie and I to see Straight No Chaser for their Christmas concert!!! I am SO excited! This is one of my all-time favorite musical groups...I've been to their concerts ever since my freshman year at IU (they originated at IU). Here is a video of one of their songs:

Kill me, please?
Ugh...I spent all last night throwing up, and I still feel a little ill this morning. On top of it, my body hurts SO BAD from tossing my cookies (I couldn't even keep water down). The strange thing is, I don't have a fever and I don't feel sick, so I know it isn't a bug. I'm guessing food poisoning. I considered going to the emergency room last night because I thought it was my gallbladder. The pain was so bad it was radiating through my back and everything. Thankfully, that went away, so I'm glad I didn't spend the money to go to the ER (yes, I'm cheap).
The only part that bothered me about this whole ordeal (other than racing to the bathroom every 10 minutes) was the fact that I would have had no way to get ahold of Jamie if I needed to go to the hospital. He's in Europe right now on business, and his cell doesn't work because the country changed their frequencies on the cell towers, so US cell phones no longer work (relatively new, because our AT&T cells worked fine the last time he was there). He is staying in an apartment with no house phone, no cell phone, and no way of contacting him, except via email. Yeah...it was a bit strange to think I was going to have to email my husband to let him know I was going to the ER.
Oy...I can't wait until I feel better and Jamie is home.
