  • Another week.

    Yesterday (Sunday) was another weigh-in for me.  I didn’t really feel any different, but the scale gave me a happy number, so I won’t complain!  I am now down to 157.2…officially 20 pounds lost from my starting weight!  I had an original goal of being 20 pounds down at the end of 2011, but hey…another month in the grand scheme of things isn’t a big deal.  I’m just happy to be losing weight and feeling better!

    Still haven’t gotten back into working out.  It’s amazing how our bodies change over time.  When I was in high school and working out regularly due to sports, I could eat anything I wanted to.  The working out was plenty enough to keep me at a healthy weight.  Now, as I’m nearly 30, it’s the exact opposite.  Keeping an eye on my diet is really what keeps me losing weight, and the exercise is just an added bonus.  I was worried that I wouldn’t lose weight without working out consistently, but that doesn’t seem to be the case.  I still want to get back into a workout routine, but it’s nice to know that just eating right is also doing some good.

    So…currently, I’ve met my 1-month goal in the weight loss challenge between Jamie and I.  The goal was to be safely below 160 pounds (which I am).  However, I really need to get back into running if I’m going to meet my 3-month goal, which was to be down to 150 pounds and running again (I was shooting for 2 miles…my knees really can’t take anything more than 3-4 miles at a time, 3-4 times a week).  If I don’t get my butt into gear, I’ll never get up to 2 miles!

    In other news…it’s SNOWING!!!!  Our first snow here this year!  I absolutely love snow, so I think I’m going to move my computer to the couch near the windows, make myself a nice cup of tea, and relax under a blanket while working.
